The Hospitality Ministry seeks to provide a welcoming environment for visitors, members and friends to meet and share light refreshments after Sunday services. As Christ invited his loved ones to share his table, we share ours, with an assortment of hot and cold beverages, lots of great food, and spirited conversation.
All are welcome to come and share, and all are also welcome to contribute to this ministry in any way you may see fit. Your presence and warmth alone are special gifts to be shared with a friend or visitor; or bring something delicious to be shared by all. If you would like to participate in this ministry in a more active way, such as helping to set up our hospitality table once in a while, please contact Shelly O'Leary at hospitality (at) imagodeimcc (dot) org.
You need to arrive about 30 - 40 minutes before services to set things up and stay until folks have finished to clean up and put things away. For the morning service, this means arriving at 9:50 to set up, and attending service as usual. After communion, you must finish preparing the table for the rush of spiritually filled but physically hungry worshippers.
Once service is over, it's time to be hospitable! Join with members, friends and visitors to chat while monitoring the table, refilling as necessary. After folks have had their fill, usually about 30 minutes, you then need to clean up and put things away, which can be done in 10 - 15 minutes. You can expect to be finished before 1 PM. We currently have a four-team rotation for the morning service, so we each are scheduled only once a month. The more people we can get involved, the longer the time will be that you will be scheduled to provide hospitality. We are especially eager to expand our services to the second and fourth Sunday evening services, so if you are available then, please contact Shelly as soon as possible.
You're kidding, right? But seriously - Payment comes in the form of all the smiles you see on the faces engaged in healthy Christian relationships around your table. It is the priceless chocolate-smeared children sneaking back for more, and all the joy of welcoming someone home that you get to be a part of!
