Alive Again!

Cloud of dust
swirling in cone of chaos
wreaking destruction.
Job’s whirlwind lives?!
 Communal DIS-connectivity
Church defined:
Rationally, not relationally
Laws, not love

Just give me Jesus, please!

Guilt induced coma of complacency
Brain shut-down bored
by God’s people pontificating
an ancient ungodly bigotry
 Church as abstract accolades
Doctrines of destruction
Tear it down
Tear down the dogma of decay

Just share Jesus, please!

Breathe in Spirit
Knit marrow to bones
Birth dreams realized
Preaching hope born again
Swirling visions of
Justice-seeking people
Walking humbling
Healing embodiment of Christ

Church alive, again!

Absolute grace
‘round table of remembrance
Certitude of mystery
In mystical communion
Called forth for purposes
Encouraged to live:
Passion and compassion
Servant and sharing

I’m alive, again!

In my own meditations upon the conversations I have been blessed to be a part of with people who call themselves gay, I am often struck by the dualistic thought that rattles in their bones.

One line of thought sucks the life of the Spirit out of them—when they remember rules that were divorced of meaning and regulations that told them they were anything but okay for being gay—they know a dull ache, at best, and a throbbing heart hurt at worst.

Another line of thought brings the person healing hope born again—when they embrace that God is Love and all relationships involving love are of God—they can free themselves to experience the genuine love of Christian brothers and sisters once more.

There are many walls constructed to come between God, Gays, and the Gospel. However at Imago Dei MCC we seek to tear down those walls in how we worship, the small group discussions we provide, and the opportunities to share our stories together from social outlets to community outreach.

During this summer season in which our inner child often comes OUT to play, do remember to keep connected with Imago Dei MCC. How come?

Well, firstly, Jesus taught to let the children come unto him—and that meant all children of every sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity and ability—to come unto him through communal worship.

Secondly, it is often the inner child who needs to hear the Gospel of Love over and over within a spiritual community to be able to believe that Jesus invites us all to come and receive so that we may go forth and give love away.

Thirdly, it is the inner child challenged to heal that also receives the real touch of compassion and joy found amidst those who journey toward wholeness together.

Healing touch is too often a lost language for communicating communion. Not so at Imago Dei MCC.

May you come out this summer to experience Jesus and a church that is very much alive!

Through our worship, small group experiences, and opportunities, may you have the courage to share stories, hope, faith, and love! May you, too, come alive with Jesus!
