PRIDE in the Gospel: Our Integrity - Method Event date: 9-14-08 (Sun) 10:30am Location: Sanctuary

What does it mean to you to have pride? Are you proud of your sexual orientation and gender identity? Are you proud of your relationship with God?

"Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life"

Readings for reflection:
Mathew 28:16 – 20 & Acts 15:6 – 18 (Bible Translations = The Message)

Bishop Carlton Pearson writes:

“Why be a Christian?  Christians are no more or less saved than anyone else; what we are is aware of the means of the salvation and its reality.  Our purpose is not to force-feed our doctrine to others, but to be Christ’s proxies on earth, reflecting God’s love and graciousness—something many non-Christians or people of other faiths often do much better than we do.  Evangelism is reminding people of what they already know.  It is reconnecting them to their pre-incarnate consciousness.  Once they remember who they are, they forget who they have become through their spiritual amnesia.  They in turn live lives of peace and joy and help make the world a better place for everyone, regardless of faith.  All else is ego.”  (A quote from The Gospel of Inclusion, pp.150-1)

This sermon series will explore ways that we may share the truth about faith our and our families in ways that are respectful and responsible to others as we encourage them to ‘remember who they are.’
