Comparative Religion Course

The current focus of our Living Word Study on Thursday evenings is Comparing Religions. The discussions are designed to introduce attendees to various religious traditions with the objective of understanding how they are similar or different from their current understanding of Christianity in the hope these insights will enrich the personal spirituality of participants.  In addition to discussions the group will be planning opportunities to experience other traditions by visiting them in their own setting.  The class will begin by exploring other religions and will then investigate some of the sects of Christianity.  Studies are held on Thursday evenings beginning at 6:30 unless otherwise announced and all are welcome to attend.  Contact Pastor Dexter for more information about this opportunity for spiritual enrichment.

A Season of Communing

The theme of our ministry this Fall is communing.  Will be focused on the aspects of our ministry that have to do with community during our Worship Gatherings as well as communion.  Our sanctuary has been re-set for the season to include a labyrinth and prayer space that encouragescommuning with God.  We will intentionally use these to gather in a more meditative way on the first Sunday of each month.  We have pictures of community displayed in our sacred space as well as the symbol of the fish that was used by the earliest Christians to indicate they were part of the community of believers.  Our communion bread will be made by a member of our community through the season.  It will be rice based rather than wheat so we can truly celebrate being one body with one bread.     Our Annual Congregational Meeting will take place in November. And we conclude the season on November 25th with a Thanksgiving Worship.

Imago Dei, the Image of God, was founded on the principles set forth by Metropolitan Community Church of radical inclusivity and diversity following the example of Christ Jesus.

We continue to evolve to fulfill our mission to demonstrate God's love for all by being welcoming and affirming.

We value spiritual development and community outreach and embrace the practices of inspirational worship, hospitality and fellowship.

We are called to passionately serve God and all who seek to grow in faith and understanding by offering vibrant programming with a special awareness of those who may have been spiritually broken or considered less than.

Monthly 242 Group Meetings

We continue to follow the example of the early followers of Jesus' way by meeting in small groups.  The meetings

take place monthly and always include time for fellowship and prayer as well as discussion.
